Welcome to Jap Namah Shivay (the "App"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the App, which is developed, operated, and maintained by Himal Mistry ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using Jap Namah Shivay, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
By using the App, you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use to assist in daily spiritual practices, mantra chanting, and devotion.
Jap Namah Shivay provides digital tools for mantra chanting, including various modes (Mala, Tap, and Black Screen), pre-loaded content, and customization options.
The spiritual content, mantras, and tools provided within the App are intended strictly for personal, devotional, and educational purposes. The App does not guarantee any specific spiritual, physical, or mental outcomes and is not a substitute for professional mental health or medical advice.
The "God of the Day" feature is provided solely for motivational purposes and to introduce variety into your practice. It is not a mandate or religious requirement to chant a specific deity’s mantra on a specific day. We reserve the right to alter the featured deities or the rotation schedule occasionally at our sole discretion based on situational context.
We provide the text and tools for chanting but do not guarantee the inclusion of in-depth translations or meanings for the mantras. Users are welcome and encouraged to copy the mantras and conduct their own independent research regarding their meanings. We are not directly liable for providing translations, nor are we responsible for individual interpretations of the spiritual texts.
To encourage consistent spiritual practice, the App includes gamified elements such as Levels, a Daily Streak system, and unlockable rewards.
All gamification elements, including level progressions and rewards, are designed strictly for personal entertainment and motivation. They are not intended to foster competition or rivalry among users.
By completing chants and unlocking levels, users may earn virtual rewards (e.g., spiritual content, Mala types, themes, avatars, and personal folder slots). These items have no real-world monetary value and cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for cash.
To maintain the integrity of the practice, we employ anti-manipulation measures. Any single Mala (consisting of 108 Japs) completed in under forty (40) seconds will be deemed invalid. Such rapid entries will not be counted as a legal Jap Mala and will not be credited toward your total count, streaks, or level progression.
The App features a Global Leaderboard to inspire the community.
By participating in the App, you agree that certain non-sensitive profile information (such as your chosen display name, avatar, level, and total valid Jap count) may be visible to other users.
You agree to use the community features respectfully. We reserve the right to remove any user from the leaderboard or suspend accounts that use inappropriate display names or attempt to manipulate the chant counting system.
We reserve the right to modify, add, or delete any pre-loaded mantra from the App's public library at any time. In the event we remove a mantra from the public list, the deleted mantra will be automatically transferred and preserved in the affected user's personal "Own Mantra" module to ensure their individual practice is not interrupted.
You retain ownership of the personal text you add to your custom mantra slots. You are solely responsible for the content you input and agree not to store any content that is illegal, offensive, or violates intellectual property rights.
These Terms are an agreement between you and the Developer, not with Google LLC. By downloading the App from the Google Play Store, you also agree to comply with Google Play’s Terms of Service. Google is not responsible for the App, its content, or providing any maintenance or support services for it.
All original content, design elements, graphics, and software code within Jap Namah Shivay are the exclusive property of the Developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended personal use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App, any data loss (including loss of streaks or custom mantras) due to device failure or app updates, or any reliance placed on the content provided within the App. The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.
We may revise these Terms occasionally. Any material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App following any changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
